The Top 3 Best & Fastest Sports Classics Cars For Racing – GTA 5
Last Updated: February 9th, 2018
Sports Classics cars in GTA V, you either love them or you hate them. Seriously, there is always the odd game where you end up racing with the Sports Classics class of car, and if you don’t have a customize version or know which is the best the race with, you’re screwed. This is because these cars vary so much in their top speed and their acceleration, so it’s probably best to either educate yourself on the best to race with or purchase the best sports classic and fully customize it, so that when you end up in a Sports Classics match you’re ready & prepped. The biggest curve though when trying to get your own custom Sports Classic though is that they are pricy, and people generally don’t want to spend so much on, lets face it, the hardest, some of the slowest most difficult cars to race with.
1. Best GTA V Sports Classic – Turismo Classic
The Turismo Classic was released later in the Cunning Stunts: Special Vehicle Circuit DLC in GTA 5. This is currently the best car for racing in any circuit race, which was almost unexpected before its release. This car has fantastic acceleration and handling performance for racing in the Sports Classics class and should be the go to car when purchasing one for racing in this class. The other care released with this one was the Infernus Classic, which races similar to the Stirling GT below. The Turismo Class will not however beat the Z-Type Sports Classic in a straight line race for top speed. The Turismo Classic will cost you $750 000 at stock form legendarymotorsport.net.

The Rapid GT Classic is like an older Aston Martin V8 from the 1970-80s and is a great choice to race in the classic sports race class if you are looking for an alternative to the above choices.

Previous Sports Classic Cars on the List
The following were the previous cars placed into the top 3 best Sports Classics cars for racing in GTA V, but with updates and the release of new cars into the game, some cars have gotten bumped. I’ve included them below in case anyone is interested.
4. Best GTA V Sports Classic – Benefactor Stirling GT
The Stirling GT came out in the Ill-Gotten Gains part 1 DLC and is said to simply ruin the Sports Classic racing class of cars as it used to annihilate every other Sports Classic cars until the Cunning Stunts Special Vehicle Circuit DLC update. So if you are planning at all to race in this category, you can get this car and still do well, but it would be suggested to get the above instead.
Benefactor Stirling GT Stats
- Acceleration (0-60mph / 0 – 100kmh): n/a
- Top Speed (mph): 175
- Engine (Capacity + Layout + Fuel): 3L 310HP V8
- Drivetrain (AWD / FWD / RWD): n/a
- Gearbox (Number + Type): n/a
- Mass (Kg / lb): n/a
5. Best GTA V Sports Classic – Pegassi Infernus Class
The Infernus Classic was released during the Cunning Stunts: Special Vehicle Circuit DLC. Even though this is currently in third place, it races on par with the second place (or previous first place) Stirling GT Sports Classic car you see above. This car has a tad bit of oversteer, but overall it can be a great pick, especially for those who like the bold look of this car.
The Infernus Classic costs $915 000 in GTA V online form the Legendarymotorsport.net online store.
Infernus Classic Stats

- Top Speed (mph): n/a
- Engine (Capacity + Layout + Fuel): n/a
- Drivetrain (AWD / FWD / RWD): n/a
- Gearbox (Number + Type): n/a
- Mass (Kg / lb): n/a
6. Best GTA V Sports Classic – Truffade Z-Type
By far this is the fastest straight line Sports Classics car. In most races the Z-Type will own, especially when there are a few straight line roads to gain speed on, this is because the Z-Type will conquer any other no problem. It is a little weak on corners, so try to master those as the traction isn’t quite as good as the car that holds the number two spot below; in that case if you are wanting a Sports Classic custom car at a cheaper cost, then perhaps the number two car will be better suited towards you; plus it has superior traction around corners.
The Z-Type will throw you back $950 000 in GTA V online form the Legendarymotorsport.net online store.
Z-Type Stats
- Acceleration (0-60mph / 0 – 100kmh): 5.5 seconds
- Top Speed (mph): 130
- Engine (Capacity + Layout + Fuel): n/a
- Drivetrain (AWD / FWD / RWD): RWD
- Gearbox (Number + Type): 4
- Mass (Kg / lb): 2205
7. Best GTA V Sports Classic – Lampadati Pigalle
The Pigalle is a superb Sports Classic to race with. Since you can install a custom spoiler, this car has really good traction, which helps superbly while cornering in any race; and even better so then the Z-Type featured in the first place above. Overall, this is a great Sports Classic car to purchase and customize for any of those GTA V players on a budget, who want great traction and pretty good acceleration. One thing to note is that this car is front wheel drive, so you may want to find tune your driving skills to accommodate for this.
Pigalle Stats
- Acceleration (0-60mph / 0 – 100kmh): n/a
- Top Speed (mph): 149
- Engine (Capacity + Layout + Fuel): n/a
- Drivetrain (AWD / FWD / RWD): FWD
- Gearbox (Number + Type): 5
- Mass (lb): 1500
8. Best GTA V Sports Classic – Invertero Coquette Classic
In third place we have the Coquette Classic, this car can win races given the right drive. The Coquette does seem to over steer some, and has some finite acceleration that one must get used to, however this is a definite third place Sports Classic racing car. This car probably could have done a little better given a spoiler, sadly however there is no option to add one, therefore the traction isn’t necessarily the best.
Coquette Classic Stats
- Acceleration (0-60mph / 0 – 100kmh): 7 Seconds
- Top Speed (mph): 140
- Engine (Capacity + Layout + Fuel): 7 litre
- Drivetrain (AWD / FWD / RWD): n/a
- Gearbox (Number + Type): n/a
- Mass (lb): 1400
